The SAT-5 Wire Length Counter uses the signal from a shaft encoder or pair of proximity sensors fitted to a sheave to measure wire length. The display is scaled in Metres or Feet. Metric or imperial distance units can then be selected without re-calibration. Typical applications include monitoring LARS and other winches. One of the features is the ability to set and measure distance from a marker, which is useful when positioning a clump weight. The counter has high and low alarms with relay output and an Ethernet interface for data recording. The instrument also includes non-volatile recording of the display readings, alarms and calibrations.
