The AIR-5 temperature and humidity monitor is designed for monitoring air diving chambers. The temperature measurement range is -40 to 100ºC and the humidity measurement range is 0-100%RH. High and low alarms exist for both temperature and humidity readings. The monitor uses a sensor installed within the chamber which communicates with the AIR-5 unit via an RS485 data cable. The AIR-5 is housed in a rugged IP 65 rated die cast aluminium case. Each AIR-5 unit contains an internal data storage which provides a 12 month history of readings and operator inputs. The AIR-5 instruments are fitted with an RS485 data output port for connecting to an external centralised data logging system.
The Air-5 temperature and humidity monitor can be upgraded so that the signal from the temperature and humidity sensor passes through a small PLC with local display that will provide the control signals that are required to keep the temperature and humidity in the chamber at constant levels. The control signals can be simple ON/OFF functions or analogue 4-20mA signals to operate proportional valves.
